81 Pierrepont Street

A true Brooklyn revival.

The focus of 81 Pierrepont Street was two-fold: to honor the historic bones of this 1845 Greek Revival townhouse, while also modernizing the space, bringing in the liveliness and color of the Brooklyn art scene happening outside of its doors today. We lovingly restored original details, like the crown molding and arched doorways, and we opened up the first floor to its full 25-foot-width. Additionally, we added intrigue via a sculptural banister, mirrors, and custom furniture pieces created by Artist-in-Residence Fitzhugh Karol and Philadelphia studio BDDW.

The six-bedroom home has three exposures of light and views of one of Brooklyn’s most beautiful streets, which we maximized with a full wall of windows in the kitchen, plus a roof deck equipped with a full kitchen. Warmth and brightness come indoors with sustainable, reclaimed Douglas Fir timbers and white oak floors, while dual marble-topped vanities surround a free-standing soaking tub in the master bath.
